After initiating a deposit, the thing you most want to know is the progress — how many confirmations so far? How many more to go? The Binance APP lets you check this in real time. This article shows you how to view and interpret this information. If you don't have an account yet, register on Binance first, and download the Binance APP.
What Are Block Confirmations
Every transaction on the blockchain needs to be packaged into a block by miners (or validators) to be considered valid. After your transaction is packaged, each new block produced afterward counts as one additional confirmation.
For example: if your transfer is packaged in block 1000, when block 1001 is produced you have 1 confirmation, and when block 1002 appears you have 2 confirmations.
Binance sets different minimum confirmation requirements for different coins. Only after the required confirmations are reached will the funds be credited to your wallet.
Confirmation Requirements by Coin
| Coin | Network | Confirmations Required | Approximate Wait Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| BTC | Bitcoin | 2 | 20–60 minutes |
| ETH | Ethereum | 12 | 2–4 minutes |
| USDT | TRC20 | 1 | Seconds |
| USDT | ERC20 | 12 | 2–4 minutes |
| USDT | BEP20 | 15 | ~45 seconds |
| BNB | BSC | 15 | ~45 seconds |
| SOL | Solana | 1 | Under 1 second |
| XRP | XRP Ledger | 1 | 3–5 seconds |
| DOGE | Dogecoin | 25 | ~25 minutes |
| LTC | Litecoin | 4 | ~10 minutes |
These confirmation numbers may be adjusted — always refer to the Binance APP for current values.
How to Check Confirmation Progress in the APP
Steps
- Open the Binance APP
- Go to the "Assets" or "Wallet" page
- Tap "Transaction History" → "Deposit"
- Find the relevant deposit record
- Tap to view details
On the detail page, you'll see something like "5/12," meaning 5 confirmations completed out of 12 required. When the number reaches the requirement (12/12), the status changes to "Completed."
What If You Can't See the Deposit Record
If the deposit doesn't appear in your records, it could be because:
- The transaction hasn't received its first confirmation yet (still queued on-chain)
- The address or network was entered incorrectly
- The transfer was just initiated and Binance hasn't detected it yet
Wait a few minutes and refresh. If it still doesn't appear, use the TxID to check the status on a blockchain explorer.
Using Blockchain Explorers for Additional Information
Blockchain explorers provide more detailed information than the Binance APP.
Common Explorers
- BTC: blockchain.com, mempool.space
- ETH/ERC20: etherscan.io
- TRX/TRC20: tronscan.org
- BSC/BEP20: bscscan.com
- SOL: solscan.io, explorer.solana.com
What You Can See on an Explorer
- Whether the transaction has been packaged (Status: Success/Pending)
- Current confirmation count
- Transaction fee
- Sender and receiver addresses
- Transaction timestamp
This information helps you determine what stage the transaction is in — still waiting on-chain or being processed on Binance's end.
When Confirmations Seem Stuck
BTC Confirmations Are Especially Slow
BTC averages 10 minutes per block, but sometimes a block can take 20–30 minutes. If your transaction fee was low, it may take even more blocks before it gets packaged.
The Page Appears Stuck
Sometimes the confirmations aren't actually stuck — the APP just hasn't refreshed in real time. Try pulling down to refresh or closing and reopening the APP.
On-Chain Transaction Not Yet Packaged
If the blockchain explorer shows the transaction as "Pending" (unconfirmed), it means it's still waiting in the mempool. In this case, the confirmation count will remain at 0. You'll need to wait for miners to pick it up or use acceleration methods if available.
Confirmations Complete but Funds Not Credited
If you see the required confirmations have been met (e.g., 12/12) but your balance hasn't increased:
- Wait a few minutes — there's a brief processing delay
- Check if wallet maintenance is in progress
- If it's been over 1 hour, contact support
Useful Facts
Why Do Different Coins Have Such Different Confirmation Requirements?
It relates to each blockchain's security model. Each BTC block carries enormous weight (proof-of-work with massive hash power), so 2 confirmations provide strong security. DOGE has relatively lower hash power, requiring more confirmations to achieve the same security level. TRX and SOL use different consensus mechanisms where 1 confirmation is sufficient.
The Relationship Between Confirmations and Security
The more confirmations, the harder it is to reverse the transaction (double-spend attack). Binance's confirmation requirements are carefully calibrated to balance speed and security.
Security Tips
- Confirmation progress is transparent and you can check it anytime — no need to ask anyone.
- Don't trust any third-party service claiming to "speed up your confirmations."
- Use a legitimate account by registering on Binance to check deposit status.
- Download the Binance APP latest version for the most accurate progress display.
FAQ
How long after confirmations are complete will it arrive?
Usually seconds to minutes. In rare cases, it may take longer (during system congestion or maintenance).
Can I check confirmation progress on the desktop web version?
Yes. Log in to the Binance website, go to Wallet → Transaction History → Deposit, and you'll see the same confirmation progress.
Why does the confirmation count differ between the APP and the blockchain explorer?
There may be a few seconds of sync delay. Blockchain explorers are typically more real-time, while the APP may lag slightly. A difference of 1–2 confirmations is normal.
Can I ask Binance to reduce the confirmation requirement to speed things up?
No. Confirmation requirements are a unified security policy and cannot be adjusted for individual users.
