The withdrawal whitelist is one of Binance's most important security features. Once enabled, withdrawals can only be sent to pre-approved addresses. After registering on Binance, it's strongly recommended to enable this feature.
What Is the Whitelist
The withdrawal whitelist is a "trusted address list." When enabled, you can only withdraw to addresses on the list. Even if a hacker gains access to your account, they cannot transfer your funds to addresses not on the whitelist.
How to Enable It
- Open the Binance APP or web version
- Go to "Security Settings"
- Find the "Withdrawal Whitelist" option
- Tap to enable
- Complete security verification (email + SMS + Google Authenticator)
Adding Whitelist Addresses
After enabling the whitelist, you need to add trusted withdrawal addresses one by one:
- Tap "Add Address" on the whitelist management page
- Select the coin and network
- Enter the address and a descriptive label
- Complete security verification after submission
- Newly added addresses have a 24-hour cooling period
Purpose of the Cooling Period
Newly added whitelist addresses cannot be used for 24 hours. This cooling period gives you enough time to detect and handle any abnormal activity. If you discover an unrecognized address added to your whitelist, you can delete it during the cooling period.
Important Notes
After enabling the whitelist, each time you need to withdraw to a new address, you must first add it to the whitelist and wait 24 hours. While somewhat inconvenient, it greatly enhances fund security. It's recommended to pre-add your commonly used withdrawal addresses.
